Perversion of Justice, 2010, a Bonus Feature on the Life Without DVD is an updated version of Perversion of Justice. This award-winning 2007 video, produced and directed by Melissa Mummert, tells the story of Hamedah Hasan, a mother of three who was originally sentenced to two life sentences in prison for her first non-violent drug offense. Melissa Mummert has been working to advocate for the release of Hamedah Hasan since 2001. Now, the American Civil Liberties Union has taken up Hamedah’s cause with an energetic commutation campaign.
